The Quartet with Bill Pierce
|
The Rusty Scott Quartet has been together since 1995 and has been one of Boston’s premier “Straight-ahead” Jazz bands, having been nominated for a Boston Music Award for Best Jazz Band. They are often described as having that “Blue Note” sound and play original compositions and Jazz standards with an emphasis on combining their diverse experiences into one creative and swinging sound while always keeping a healthy respect for the tradition of jazz.

The Rusty Scott Organ Group
Check out this bluesy, funky, and definitely greasy spin-off band with Rusty Scott on Hammond “B-3” organ, Tim Mayer on saxes, Mike Mele on guitar and David Brophy on drums. They play both original compositions by Rusty Scott and classic organ trio standards. This band is guaranteed to part the hair on your head and get your body moving. They’ve played at Ryles and The Regattabar and worked with The Bill Pierce Band, Yoron Israel’s “Organic”, Andy McGhee, and “Sax” Gordon Beadle. Check out some of the sound clips above!
